Classic Cartoons on the Big Screen!

Come watch rare and classic animation from the Fleicher studio, who created Superman, Popeye and Betty Boop. This FREE screening is good for all ages, and with dazzling projection quality you won’t see elsewhere. We will be filming the crowd watching the cartoons for a new PBS documentary about the Fleicher Brothers.

Content Warning: Many cartoons and animated shorts from the early 20th century depict some ethnic and racial prejudices that were once commonplace in American society. Such depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. While not representing The Academy of Music or Cartooning America’s views, these shorts are being presented as they were originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed.
