The Back Porch Festival returns March 3 – 4 – 5, 2023 in a new expanded format featuring dozens of bands playing in eight venues in downtown Northampton over three days. For the first time, we are offering a full festival pass with one admission price to all Back Porch events throughout the weekend. It’s going to be a magical weekend of American roots music with performers from across the US converging on Northampton. 

The Back Porch Festival is co-presented with the Northampton Arts Council as part of their long-running Four Sundays series.

Tickets are not available through the Academy of Music.  They must be purchased here.

The Premium weekend pass includes entrance to all shows plus guaranteed admission to the evening headline shows at the Academy of Music including the John Prine Tribute show Friday night plus the Saturday and Sunday evening shows.  There are a limited number of  Premium Weekend Passes available and will likely sell out in advance of the festival weekend.

BACK PORCH FAQS

How do tickets work for the Back Porch Festival?  

This year it works more like a traditional festival.  Your weekend ticket will be exchanged for a Back Porch Festival button which is your entrance pass to all Back Porch shows.   There are no reserved seats…all shows are general admission and first come, first served.  There are two kinds of tickets, the Premium Weekend Pass and the Weekend Ramble Pass.

What’s included in a Premium Weekend Pass?   

The Premium weekend pass includes entrance to all shows plus guaranteed admission to the evening headline shows at the Academy of Music including the John Prine Tribute show Friday night plus the Saturday and Sunday evening shows.  There are a limited number of  Premium Weekend Passes available and will likely sell out in advance of the festival weekend.

What’s included in the Weekend Ramble Pass?  

The ramble pass includes admission to all Back Porch Events except the evening Academy Of Music shows. All Back Porch events are subject to venue capacity and first come, first served, Ramble passes will go on sale in January.

Can I share my weekend pass with a friend?

Yes,  the Back Porch Festival buttons are sharable.  However, you must be wearing a button to gain admittance to festival venues.  Only one admittance per button.

Is there free admission for kids?

Due to limited venue capacities, all attendees need a festival button including kids.

When will you announce the artist line-up?

We’ll announce the initial artist line-up in early December with additional announcements throughout the winter,.

When will the venue schedule be available?   

We’ll announce the full schedule in early February.
